Old movies
I’m digging the combination of the TiVo and the American Movie Channel. Watched “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” recently. It goes without saying, but it was excellent. Watching “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” now.
Movies today, and for the past 20 years, have depended more on special effects and new technology than the story. There are some exceptions to that rule, but before then movies depended on the story because the special effects hadn’t been invented yet.
I’m going to keep picking through these old movies and the wonderful stories they tell. I’ll probably go back and find the original works, by Tennessee Williams and Truman Capote, respectively, at some point.
