Relaxing day

This has been a good day. Julie and I got up this morning to prepare the kids for school. That’s always interesting with four young’uns in the house all getting ready to go to three different schools. We need a schedule of German precision, but we end up with more of a circus.

Katheryn beat Zack into the shower at 6:00 a.m. even though her bus gets here at 7:20. Zack finally got in there at about 6:15 before catching his bus at 6:50.

The two youngest, Meg and Jo, took their showers last night and just roll out of bed to get dressed, munch down some cereal and catch their bus when it stops at about 6:40.

Julie and I are both off today and, after the kids were on their way to school, we went back to bed. Neither one of us get many opportunities for extra sleep so we take advantage of that when we can. We woke up at about 10:30 to a ringing phone. We went ahead and got up at that point.

After our breakfast, we rounded our stuff up and went to the middle school to pick up Katheryn and take her and Julie to get their teeth cleaned at the dentist. That’s something I need to do too, go get my teeth cleaned. I’m sure the dentist will have lots to talk to me about. I haven’t been to the dentist since I was in high school.

Stupid, I know, but that’s the fact, Jack. Boy, do I dread the talking-to I’m going to get from the tooth doctor.

After their teeth were all sparkly clean, we stopped by Providence Ministries to drop off a bunch of clothes courtesy of a recent purging. Then we took Kat back to school and returned to the house. We ended up back in the bed for a lazy day. Julie read her book (she finished Harry Potter, I need to start it now) and I read the news online and worked on my blogs.

And that brings us up to 5:15 p.m. Not sure what’s the day has in store for us, but I can’t wait…
